Supercharger Review – Vancouver, BC – Burrard St

Vancouver-Burrard Street, BC – Tesla Supercharger

Located in the Waterfront Center parking off Burrard Street and W Waterfront Road. As you enter the parking lot, continue forward down the vehicle ramp and turn two lefts down to level P3 to access the Tesla Urban Superchargers or follow the Tesla EV chargers signs that will also lead you to the Tesla Urban Superchargers.

There are 8 Tesla Urban Superchargers at this location, providing a dedicated 72kW per charger with 24/7 access. In addition to this, you have Starbucks, Tim Hortons, and McDonald’s for a quick snack.

During this time of Covid-19, this location has free parking downtown, which is rare to find! The fast-food amenities nearby also have limited hours and are not open 24/7 anymore due to the restrictions, and update frequently, so please refer to their respective google map pins.

At this location, there are 4 free Public J-Plug (J-1772) 6.24kW Flow chargers located on the vehicle ramp to Level P2. Turn left, and the stations are located in parking stalls #278, #279, #319, #320. There are no Chademo/CCS chargers at this location. Another great way to charge your Tesla is to use the Urban Tesla Supercharger, which 8 stalls provide 72kW each located on P3.

This location is excellent as it is right by the Vancouver Waterfront. It provides free parking, 4 free public J-Plug chargers, 8 Urban Tesla Superchargers, and an abundance of food options to keep you busy while you charge. It doesn’t get that much better for a charging station in downtown Vancouver, which is why I would rate it a 10 out of 10!

Supercharger Review – Whistler, BC

Whistler, BC – Tesla Supercharger

Found at the Whistler Fairmont hotel is the Whistler, BC Tesla Supercharger. It is located in the covered parking lot on the hotel’s left side, right off Chateau Blvd and Blackcomb. You will see many red Tesla signs pointing to the Tesla superchargers’ location in the parking lot.

There are 4 superchargers on the first floor where the valet parking is, and 6 more superchargers directly above the valet parking on the 2nd floor, for a total of 10 Superchargers up to 72kW each.

If you’re feeling hungry, there are fewer food locations than other superchargers. There is the WildFlower, Mallard Lounge, Milestones, RMU Blackcomb, Wizards Grill, The Fitzsimmons Pub, Legs Diamond, and seasonally the Whistlers Farmers Market.

If you need to do a little bit of shopping, there is the Upper Village Market, Whistler, & a BC Liquor store.

At this location, there are 12 Tesla 16kW chargers and 2 Level 2 J-Plug (J-1772) 7.7kW chargers. But no Chademo/CCS chargers. Another great way to charge your Tesla is to use the wall chargers at some locations, which might charge slower but are perfect for an overnight stay at a hotel or visiting an area for a more extended amount of time.

I would rate this supercharger a 6/10. It doesn’t have the best food options nor amenities; washrooms are in the hotel, which is a hassle to get around into, and there is pay parking $7/h! Ouch!

SUPERCHARGER REVIEW – Tsawwassen, BC

Tsawwassen, BC – Tesla Supercharger

Feeling hungry at the Tsawwassen, BC Supercharger? The mall has all the food options, from a dozen Fast Food restaurants in the food court, to some fine dining, if you are feeling in the mood. On the south side of the mall, there is Milestones, Boston Pizza, and Montana’s. Also, when you are changing, the mall has an abundance of outlet stores for shopping.

With 12 supercharging stalls up to 150kW, including one nose-in stall for a trailer, Tsawwassen, BC Supercharger is well equipped to handle the local and ferry traffic. This is also an ideal stopping location for any Tesla owner travelling from or to the island during long distance travel. It is only a five minute quick drive to the ferry terminal!

Even if you are not feeling in the mood for a quick supercharging session, the mall has 26 Level 2 J-Plug (J-1772) charging stations. The stations are spaced around the mall for quick, easy, and free charging 24/7.

I would rate this supercharger a 10 out of 10, just for its points in location, accessibility, and furthermore its accommodations around the charger such as shopping, food, and other Level 2 chargers.

Of Greece, Bubble Waffle Cafe, Dairy Queen, and many more food choices.

At this location, there are sadly no public J1772 chargers or even any Chademo/CCS chargers. The only chargers that Richmond CF center offers are the 20 Tesla Superchargers in the North parking lot by Westminster HWy and Minoru Blvd.

Halfway up the Sea-to-Sky Hwy is Squamish, BC Tesla Supercharger. Located right off the Sea-to-Sky Hwy and Mamquam Rd is Garibaldi Village Mall, where you will find the Tesla Supercharger right behind the Boston Pizza. This location has 10 Supercharging stalls up to 150kW.

Fun fact, this was the very first Tesla Supercharger ever built in Canada! The first day of operation was over 6 years ago: July 12th, 2014.

If you’re feeling hungry, I would highly recommend going to one of the nearby restaurants/fast food locations within a couple of meters of the Supercharger. Some options are Boston Pizza, Starbucks, Subway, Freshii, Fresh Slice Pizza, Booster Juice.

If you need to do a little bit of shopping, there is a Canadian Tire, Dollar Store, Marks, & a BC Liquor Store. If you are feeling adventurous and want to get a quick workout in, there is Anytime Fitness.

At this location, there are sadly no public J1772 chargers or even any Chademo/CCS chargers. (Yet) The only chargers that Garibaldi Village Mall has to offer are the 10 Tesla Superchargers behind the Boston Pizza right off Sea-To-Sky Hwy and Mamquam Rd.

This location is perfect for charging and grabbing a quick bite to eat as there are so many restaurants and amenities near the charger. Personally, I would always get a Subway, and by the time I’m finished eating, the car is fully charged. I would rate this location a 10 out of 10!
